Introduction Vermont is a state in the New England region of United States and is ranked 49th among the 50 states of U.S. Vermont was added to U.S union in 1791 as 14th state. Basically the function, structure, duties and operation of the government of the State of Vermont are defined and established by the Vermont Constitution which established the basic laws of the government. The state government comprises of three branches: judicial, executive and legislative. The governor as well as the senate members serves for two years. There are no term limits for any office. The legislature of Vermont comprises of 30 Vermont Senators which House of Representatives. The Supreme Court in Vermont consists of a chief Justice and six justices.
