Introduction The capital of Vermont, Montpelier is the main hub of the state’s insurance industry. It is a small city compared to other state capitals but the most livable of all the cities. It has a rural setting but a cosmopolitan one as well. It has been recently named as the Top Small City for Doing Business in the United States. Montpelier has been recognized as one of the top 100 art towns in the United States.
Montpelier is located in a valley on the Winooski and North Branch rivers, which trisect the city, in central Vermont. The city enjoys a four distinct seasons. The city receives more than 40 inches of precipitation each year with 30 inches coming as rain and the other 10 in the form of snow.
